Hello and welcome! Its Simon here, taking a break from coding! Today I will be having a conversation with our newest Spatial Quotient member, Kathryn White. She is joining us as CTO, and will be helping guide our innovation & tech strategy. Lets get to it!
We're going through a transformation - from old to new; from start-up to scale-up; from using data to being all about data. We're changing from That Figures to Spatial Quotient.
On the 20th March 2020, along with a vast majority of the UK, all Operational staff at Spatial Quotient were placed on furlough. This lasted until the 15th June, which marked not only my return, but the start of a very important operational period.
Its April, and I find myself in a new city, working a new job, and working from home. I had a bit of an adjustment to make, not just to working from home, but also to a new team, a working style, and a new field! It's been quite the ride so far, but things are starting to settle into somewhat of a lockdown routine.
The two-year project is focused on developing new algorithms to analyse data collected in healthcare clinics. These algorithms will help Spatial Quotient redesign clinic services, in particular, aiming to optimise the complex flows of patients around the healthcare provider. This will significantly reduce patient waiting times, but also improve the working environment and experience of clinic staff.
